  • Great American Litter Pickup This Saturday, April 20th is the Great American Litter Pick Up. Please join volunteers across the city to help clean up neighborhoods. The clean up is from 8:30 – 11:30am and the downtown area will have four meeting locations. Following the event, join neighbors for a celebratory lunch at any of the locations.   • February General Meeting at Plaza Maria The February SUN General Meeting will be taking place at  Plaza Maria Apartments (115 E Reed St) this Tuesday February 21 at 7PM San Jose's Bring Your Own Bags Ordinance began on January 1 this year. We will be giving away reusable grocery bags at the meeting. We will also be seeking Fundraising Options, and Neighborhood Watch Leads. As usual the local police will be available to answer questions. If you can, please bring a drink or snack to share. See you at 7PM on Tuesday

  • Disaster Preparedness at the SUN General Meeting Tuesday, November 15 Natural disasters such as flood, fire, and earthquake affect thousands of people every year.  Those of us living in the Bay Area in particular know the risks of earthquakes and are aware that even a relatively moderate earthquake can have major consequences such as lack of power and a lack of emergency services.  Therefore, it is especially important  for us to be prepared in the event of a natural disaster and to be able take care of ourselves and our families.
