    2. Been a lot quieter than the rest of the city
    3. Car thefts up, mainly older cars without a chip
    4. Report suspicious people working in cars

    2. 3-5 officers
    3. If SJPD cannot respond SJSUPD might respond
    4. Thursday night is party night on 10th & 11th streets

    • CAP Grants Ending - no longer getting about $3000 each year
    • CAP Grants have been used to fund Yard Sale, National Night Out, Dumpster Day, Halloween Social & Event Insurance
    • Raised $2500 for coat drive last year ($1500 individual plus PG&E grant)
    • Halloween Social in kind gifts totalled $2000
    • Need help form people to bring in more money
      • Bake Sale
      • Selling See's Candy
      • Neighborhood Potluck
      • Aluminum Can drive

    • Rash of vehicle burglaries and bike thefts (60)
    • Gang violence on rise between William and Reed on 10th, 11th and 12th Sts

    • Students back on January 25 
    • Current trend is bicycle theft and petty theft 
    • Finished DUI Campaign in position 6 of 13 
    • Incidence of aggressive panhandling reported 
    • University Police number is 924-2222 
  2. Our City Forest 
    • Non-profit since 1994 
    • Current grants will stop at end of March 
    • 55,000 trees planted since 1994, but more trees than that have been cut down 
    • Main cause of tree death is wrong tree or planted incorrectly 
    • $10,000 left for concrete removal 
    • Application process: 
      • Fill out application 
      • City permits taken care of 
      • Arborist will visit 
      • Will help with planting of more than 10 trees 
  3. MACLA Family Portraits were given out 
  4. Gazebo foundations are being laid 
  5. Grocery bags will be given out at next General Meeting

    • AppOrder iPhone app - can tag as urgent if gang related
    • Beginning January 2012 ban on plastic bags takes effect
    • Graffiti kits have sovent, gloves, sponge
    • Volunteer agreement forms passed out
    • Can pick up kits from 501 Vine St, San Jose CA 95110 from 7:30am - 4:30pm weekdays
